The March draw of Little John’s Lotto took place prior to the monthly Outlaws committee meeting at The White Hart in Nottingham on Monday 10th of April.
Whilst the delegates were still taking their seats, the random number generator (or “Robbie” as he is affectionately known) was wheeled out of the special mobile transporter for his first “on the road” draw.
The delegate who had the good fortune of pressing Robbie’s magic button was none other than Tony Costante, chairman of the Junior Outlaws who was bubbling with excitement of pulling out the big one! Those lucky enough to be watching events unfold remained enthralled as Robbie whirred into action and immediately set about searching the ether for the lucky winner.
Indeed, in less than a second Robbie magically produced the winning number from his bag to a spontaneous round of applause from the small band of excited committee members and general pub regulars who had gathered around the magical number generator.
Closer inspection revealed the lucky ball was none other than number 9 (nine) and a quick check down the list revealed that the winner was Joe Shepherd, keen supporter and a founder member of the Outlaws lottery. Joe pocketed a cheque for £102.50 for his good fortune
Club chairman Richard Johnson was quick to congratulate Joe on his win, commenting “I am especially pleased to witness Joe’s good fortune. Joe has been a member of the draw since day one and it was great to see him land the big one live. I am sure this windfall will be put to good use in the coming weeks”
The Outlaws are now well into the 2017 campaign. With this in mind funds are needed more than ever and supporters of the club are urged to sign up and in doing so, continue to grow the game of rugby league in Nottingham.
