With the Outlaws first team having a week off its the turn of our women’s team to take centre stage as they play their first game of the season on Sunday.
The 2022 campaign opener is at Sheffield as the women travel to take on Sheffield Eagles women’s League one side in a friendly fixture (kick off 13.00h at Mosborough Miners)
As usual the team will be captained by the highly experienced Violet Coppin but there will be plenty of newcomers on show with a number of players from the GB Teachers and Loughborough University squads swelling the ranks.
Coach Mark Stockman is in buoyant mood ahead of the fixture adding “The squad has really started to come together in the last week or so and we expect to travel up to Sheffield with a large squad of players, many of whom are going to be on debut but from what I have seen in training I know that they will acquit themselves well”
