With the men’s first team having a break in their fixtures it was the turn of the Academy to pick up the reigns with an eclectic mix of young and vastly experienced players pulling on a shirt for an away match at NEW Ravens in Birmingham on Saturday.
The two sides appeared evenly matched in the opening forty with just two points separating the sides before the Outlaws put their foot on the gas in the second half, scoring a string of unanswered try’s to emerge as convincing 62-18 winners.
Despite there being numerous players with only a handful of appearances between them the Outlaws competed well in what was a very even first half and when the first stanza drew to a close the Outlaws just about had their noses in front with 16-18 half time lead.
The Outlaws were in no mood to let their grasp of the game go and as they grew into the game they began to dominate proceedings running in a series of excellent trys against a tiring home side .
When the final hooter sounded the Outlaws were left as deserved 62-18 victors despite a strong showing from an emerging NEW Ravens side.
Try scorers for the Outlaws were Haz Ashby 3, Harry Hemingway 2, Adam Riley 3 Aidan Butler, Adam Ward and Jake Hall
Aidan Butler slotted over no fewer than 9 conversions whilst man of the match deservedly went to Adam Ward for a fine display on attack and defence.
