The slightly delayed June draw for Little John’s Lotto finally took place during the Outlaws monthly committee meeting this last week.
With the temperature in the magnificent Lenton Lane clubhouse rising, due to both the heat outside and the excitement of the draw inside, the chief adjudicator wheeled the random number generator (or “Robbie” as he is affectionately known) from the storage cupboard into the centre of the club house floor.
Those lucky enough to be watching events unfold remained enthralled as Robbie immediately set about searching the ether for the lucky winner.
Despite the heat, Robbie did not dally in his mission to make millions. Indeed, in less time than it takes to say “when will it ever rain again” Robbie magically pulled the winning ball from his bag to a spontaneous round of applause from the small band of over-heated committee members.
Closer inspection revealed the lucky ball was none other than number 34 (thirty four) and a quick check down the list revealed that the winner was Will Martin, committee member and utility player who ply’s his trade in both the pack and the threequarters. Will pockets a cheque for £102.50 for his good fortune
Club chairman Richard Johnson was quick to congratulate Will on his win, commenting “I am especially pleased to hear about Will’s good fortune. I know Will has been travelling around the world quite a bit recently but he continues to be a great supporter of the club and I look forward to him pulling on an Outlaws shirt again at some point in the future”
The Outlaws are looking to continue their improvement on and off the field. Indeed with the new ground now open and the 2018 campaign well underway funds are needed more than ever. Supporters of the club are urged to sign up and in doing so, continue to grow the game of rugby league in Nottingham.
