STUDY : TRAIN : PLAY
Nottingham Outlaws are delighted to announce that they are launching a new new scholarship scheme aimed at providing support and benefits to students in the city who want to combine their studies with playing and coaching rugby league.
The scheme, established under the banner “Study :Train : Play” is open to male and female students across all of the higher education establishments in the city, including both of the city’s universities and Nottingham College.
Students who join the scheme will be supported on and off the pitch, enabling them to enjoy playing rugby league whilst enhancing their future employability prospects. In addition students on the scheme will be given the opportunity to gain coaching and refereeing qualifications as well as career development through a number of key employers across the city who have pledged to support the scheme.
Outlaws Chairman Richard Johnson was quick to add his support to the new project, commenting “for the last few seasons we have supported a number of students through our scholarship scheme at Nottingham Trent University so it makes perfect sense to expand the scheme across all of the academic institutions in and around the city. What is more, we are now in a position to significantly enhance the package that we can offer our scholars thanks to the support we will receive from a number of corporate backers, who we will be announcing shortly.”
