The coaching staff at Nottingham Outlaws are pleased to announce that two of their current scholarship players, Olly Hopkins and Cam Foster have been selected to play for the Midlands Students in this weekend’s regional play-offs. The match is the first step on the representative pathway with both players eyeing selection for the South of England squad.
Poor weather has meant that the fixture, initially scheduled for last weekend, has now been rearranged for this coming Saturday 9th December at Sheffield Hallam University.
Outlaws First Team Coach Joe Shepherd who also doubles up as Trent University coach, was quick to praise his charges adding “It is fantastic to see Cal and Olly gain selection for Midlands this year. They’ve both worked hard and fully deserve the opportunity to play at this higher level, and it’ll be great to watch them in action alongside some other local representatives from Trent and Notts Uni”
Indeed the dynamic duo are not the only Outlaws on show with Outlaws scrum half George Waghorn also named in the Midlands team.
It goes without saying that everyone at Nottingham Outlaws wishes them all the best of luck for Saturday!!!
