Nottingham Outlaws are delighted to announce that they have receiving funding from the CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme to the tune of £15,000 towards installing new floodlights at their Lenton Lane ground.
The investment originates from monies that RLWC2021 received from the Government and the National Lottery. The Outlaws were ultimately successful in their bid and funding was subsequently delivered by the Rugby League World Cup 2021 and the Rugby Football League in partnership with Sport England and The National Lottery.
Outlaws Chairman was quick to thank the funding sources saying “ as a club we would very much like to thank the RLWC2021 team, The RFL, Sport England and The National Lottery for their financial support, without which the work to replace the existing floodlights would not be able to go ahead”
Indeed, the installation of the floodlights has been completed in double quick time and the sate-of-the-art LED floodlights are already being used by a range of community users as the Outlaws chairman was quick to point out, adding “the new floodlights are superb, already our mixed touch players have tested them out and everyone was amazed at the improved visibility. Last Friday we hosted a hugely enjoyable rugby league game between the two local universities and we have local rugby union clubs also looking to play matches under the lights”
Indeed on the back of the investment the club has already signed a long term agreement with Nottingham Trent University whose rugby league team will now be training at Lenton Lane on a regular basis with other user agreements likely to follow.
